Pregnancy update...

So this is the e-mail I opened up earlier this week (my weekly update from BabyCenter) "You're 26 weeks pregnant, 98 days to go!" First of all, I can't believe that the countdown is now only in the double digits. Next week I'll be in my third trimester, which means that Baby T's arrival is becoming more eminent (so excited, so nervous). He's definitely getting stronger. At my Baylor interview yesterday, he kicked me ferociously three times in a row, right into the ribs, and it actually took my breath away. I think the senior resident thought I was going into labor or something but when I started laughing and explained that my feisty boy was apparently trying to escape, we were able to move on. (What I really think is that he was tired of me walking for over two hours to be able to see both HUGE hospitals.)

My legs are very sore from waking up with huge calf cramps and then compounded with walking around all day on tours. Needless to say, I'm hoping that a maternity massage is under the Christmas tree this year... even if it's just my lower back and calves, I would be in heaven. That's the short update... more to come next week, because I'll have more sonogram pictures!

How your baby's growing:
Your baby now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber), from head to heel. The nerve pathways in his ears are developing, which means his response to sounds is growing more consistent. His lungs are developing now, too, as he continues to take small breaths of amniotic fluid — good practice for when he's born and takes that first breath of air.
